Overview
Scan2Add can add three types of objects to the point of sale cart:
Products
The native scanning function in Shopify POS allows you to quickly scan products from the home screen. However it is limited to scanning the barcode of a product.
Scan2Add allows you to scan a barcode, sku, Shopify product ID, or a generic search phrase. You can also scan data for a specific variant, or a product.
Customers
You can add customers to the cart by scanning a code embedded with a Shopify ID or the customer's email address. This can ensure you have the correct customers, avoids manual searching and unlocks the possibility for scannable customer ID cards.
Discounts
You can use a QR or Barcode to quickly apply a discount to the cart with Scan2Add. As discount codes can often be random, lengthy strings - scanning enables fast application of discounts, opening up the ability to scan discount codes embedded in emails, customer membership cards, or on quick reference sheets for faster checkout.
