This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and disclose information through the Scan2Add Shopify application and it's associated services.
Our application
Scan2Add encompasses a server application run on Gadget.dev that handles authentication, API requests and related tasks. The scanner functionality is provided by a Shopify Point of Sale extension that provides sandboxed access to the point of sale device.
Information We Collect
Through Shopify’s APIs
- READ_PRODUCTS: Required to enhance product search results when scanning a product code.
- READ_DISCOUNTS: Required to retrieve discount details when scanning a discount code.
- READ_CUSTOMERS: Required to search for customers and retrieve customer order history.
Information Collected Directly From Merchants and there customers:
We do not collect or store any additional information directly from merchants. Event information may be tracked but does not contain any sensitive or customer information. At no time do we store information such as product names, customer emails or discount codes.
Automated Logs
We automatically collect logs via Gadget.dev for debugging and troubleshooting purposes. Additionally, we track events in Mixpanel for debugging and product improvements. These logs and events do not contain customer or private information.
Information from Merchants’ Customers
Our app operates via a Shopify Point of Sale extension and does not collect information directly from merchants' customers directly or indirectly via cookies.
Use of Information
The information we collect is solely used to provide our app's service, including authentication, processing API requests, and improving our product by understanding usage patterns. We do not use this information for any other purposes.
Data Management
Data Storage and Retention:
We store data as long as it is necessary to provide our services to you and comply with our legal obligations. Please contact us if you wish to request the deletion of your data. Upon uninstallation of the app we are automatically notified and conduct
Data Deletion or Request
Upon app uninstall your personal data and any accessTokens are removed from our records. We do keep a record on file with your store information to handle re-installs. For additional data requests please contact help@countertop.dev for such requests.
Data Access:
Merchants have the right to access the data we collect about them. Please contact us for assistance with accessing your data.
